Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo spoke today with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. He pledged continued bilateral cooperation in the fight against ISIS and al-Qaida.

The Secretary and the Foreign Minister shared concern over prolonged violence and instability in Libya, and agreed on the need to achieve a political solution to the conflict. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister also discussed the strong U.S.-Egypt partnership and important regional security issues.
