About WireNews Press Cards
WireNews Press Cards provide press credentials and media identification for journalists, reporters, photographers, writers, broadcasters, bloggers, citizen journalists and independent media professionals worldwide.
Established in 2001, the programme was created to support independent journalism and provide media professionals with recognised press identification designed to assist in establishing professional standing and facilitating media access.
WireNews credentials are used by members across multiple countries and media sectors, reflecting more than two decades of continuous operation within the international media industry.
WireNews press cards were established and built upon principles of press freedom, independent reporting, and responsible journalism, supporting both established and emerging media professionals in an increasingly digital and global news environment.
WireNews charges just £150 per year for its physical press card, far less than Union dues or most of the plastic cards available on the Internet. The price includes a plastic card holder, lanyard and a Digital Press Card that lives on your iPhone or Android smartphone (a £10 per year value).
