APEC

The United States is sending a delegation to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2026 Third Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM3) in Dalian, China on August 17-28 to continue advancing America First foreign, trade, and investment policies.

U.S. Senior Official for APEC Casey Mace will lead U.S. interagency participation at SOM3, where U.S. officials will be focused on creating more opportunities in the APEC region for American businesses in sectors related to agriculture, energy, transportation, fisheries, health, and food security. In addition, through U.S.-led events, the United States will advance policies that reduce barriers to services exports, expand government partnerships that showcase U.S. private sector innovations across supply chains, and lead discussions on trade and labor.

In addition, Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Ocean, Fisheries, and Polar Affairs Ruth Perry is leading the Ocean Tech Solutions Workshop on the margins of the Oceans and Fisheries Working Group meeting. The workshop pairs American innovation, including satellite monitoring technology, with shared APEC efforts to combat illegal fishing and marine debris, advancing responsible ocean economic development across the region.

U.S. leadership in APEC is a key dimension to pursuing America First policies that foster prosperity and advance economic growth in the United States and across the region by breaking down barriers for U.S. business, boosting fair and reciprocal trade, and supporting American job growth.
