On behalf of the people of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Panama as you celebrate 116 years of independence on November 3.
The profound historical ties between the United States and Panama constitute the foundation of our effective partnership. I look forward to working with President Laurentino Cortizo, his team, and the Panamanian people to continue promoting prosperity, regional security, and democracy throughout the Western Hemisphere.
