On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Slovakia as you mark Constitution Day.
The United States and Slovakia share a strong partnership built on mutual respect, shared responsibility, and the principle that sovereign nations are strongest when they are free to make their own choices and defend their own interests.
Over the past year, we have deepened this partnership through our cooperation on Slovakia’s military modernization efforts and in the field of civil nuclear energy. These efforts make both our nations stronger and contribute to a more secure and prosperous transatlantic community.
My visit to Bratislava earlier this year reaffirmed the importance the United States places in our relationship with Slovakia. We look forward to building on that momentum by expanding trade and investment, advancing our shared energy and security interests, and pursuing practical cooperation that benefits both the American and Slovak people.
